14th Youth Song and Dance Festival, 29th Song Festival and 22nd Dance Festival: ‘The Way We Are’

The 14th Youth Song and Dance Festival, together with the 29th Song Festival and the 22nd Dance Festival, “The Way We Are”, will take place in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, from 30 June to 9 July 2028.

The 2028 festival is expected to be the largest Song and Dance Festival ever held in Estonia. The Song Festival, Dance Festival and Folk Music Festival will bring together children’s and youth choirs, orchestras and dance groups, as well as adult choirs, orchestras and dance groups from across Estonia.

The 2028 Song and Dance Festival will last for a total of two weeks. During the first week, Tallinn will welcome dancers and folk musicians. Rehearsals will take place at the beginning of the week, followed by four identical Dance Festival performances at Kalev Stadium from Friday to Sunday. The Folk Music Festival concert will take place on 2 July at the Estonian Open Air Museum.

During the second week, choirs and orchestras will arrive in Tallinn. On Friday, 7 July, all festival participants will join the traditional procession from Tallinn city centre to the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. This will be followed by the first Song Festival concert, during which the audience will have the opportunity to sing along to many well-known songs.

On Saturday, 8 July, a concert featuring adult ensembles will take place. The festival will culminate on Sunday, 9 July, with the final concert. Children’s and youth ensembles will perform during the first part of the day, while adult choirs will also gather on stage for the festive closing ceremony.

Tickets for the 2028 Song and Dance Festival will go on sale in January 2028. More detailed information will be published here on the website.
